Abstract Use Cases Diagrams in the Unified Language Modeling (UML) have been used for capturing system functional requirements. However, the system development occurs in a context where organizational processes are well established. Therefore, we need to capture organizational requirements to define how the system fulfils the organization goals, why it is necessary, what are the possible alternatives, etc. Unfortunately, UML is ill equipped for modeling organizational requirements. We need other techniques, such as i*, to represent these aspects. Nevertheless, organizational requirements must be related to functional requirements represented as Use Cases. In this paper we present some guidelines to assist requirement engineers in the development of Use Cases from the i* organizational models.

Deriving Software Product Line’s Architectural Requirements from Use Cases: an Experimental Approach
One of the most important artifacts of a product line is the product line architecture. In this paper we present an approach for deriving a product line’s architecture from the requirements of the product line. This approach is based on a transformational technique that has been developed and applied to obtain system architectures from requirements specified as UML use cases. In this paper we e...

متن کاملUse Case Diagrams in Support of Use Case Modeling: Deriving Understanding from the Picture
Use case modeling in the Unified Modeling Language (UML) is a popular text-based tool for systems analysis and design. Use cases can be used with or without supporting use case diagrams. This paper uses an experiment to explore the effectiveness of including a use case diagram with a set of use cases. The Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning is used to hypothesize that the use case diagram i...
متن کاملModeling Un-authorized Land Use Sprawl with Integrated Remote Sensing-GIS Technique and Cellular Automata
We have used cellular automata integrated with GIS and remote sensing to analyze urban sprawl aiming at analyzing expansion of potential unauthorized land uses for residential, commercial and industrial based on spatial factor deriving from remote sensing high resolution data. The spatial factors considered are used as parameter to measure either land use in these expansion process develop as u...
